Inauguration Ceremoney of BSI-STEEL

Minister of State of Energy and Industry His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Saleh Al Sada opens BSI Steel Factory and Head Office in Doha, Qatar.

Dr. Al Sada said the volume of private sectors investment in the small and medium size industries sector is worth QR3.5 billion, while the cost of the sectors infrastructure has reached QR1.4 billion.

Al Sada speaking at the launch of BSI Steel factory in the New Industrial Area which he inaugurated.

BSI Steel is the first and only PEB design fabricator of steel buildings in Qatar.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saad Aateek Muftah, the Chairman of BSI Steel said, “We are very proud of the opening of the plant, which falls within the framework of efforts exerted by the Ministry of Energy and Industry in order to diversify the productive base of the Qatar economy.

Mr. Kadem Rubie, CEO of BSI Steel commented the great support by Ministry of Energy and Industry, saying our presence today is the result of the allocation of the land and services offered by Ministry of Energy and Industry.

BSI Steel has been in operation since 2006. We have delivered over 200 projects in the State of Qatar. Our capacity is 48,000 tons per year; in 2010 we will close the year of nearly 14,000 tons. Our goal for 2011 is to capture more projects in Qatar for a target of 30,000 tons.

We have sold and delivered projects to Iraq and Saudi Arabia and our intention is to expand in both countries.
